From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we approach the end of Term 2, our students and staff have been working exceptionally hard on final assessments completing Semester 1 learning programs. This is a busy and important time of year, and it’s heartening to see such dedication across the school.

In particular, our Year 9 and 10 students demonstrated focus and effort during their exams last week. Their commitment, perseverance, and purposeful approach to learning have been a credit to them.

Year 10 Course Counselling Meetings

Miss Jamieson and Ms Harper thoroughly enjoyed meeting with the Year 10 students and their parents during the recent course counselling sessions. It is a privilege to be part of these important conversations and to help guide students in selecting courses that support their goals and aspirations.

Western Region Athletics Carnival Success!

Congratulations to all the Primary School students who competed at the recent Western Region Athletics Carnival. The students competed with great excellence, perseverance and great sportsmanship and thoroughly enjoyed the honour of bringing home the trophy for 2025.

Special congratulations to Mrs Overs and Mr Hughes for their dedication in preparing the students so successfully for their events. A great result from lots of hard work!

Community Council Meeting

Thank you to Karissa and the Community Council members for their continuing contributions to our College. We had another positive and productive meeting in Week 7 and are working together on areas such as improving the processes for uniform purchasing, establishing a Young Engineers Club with Mr Inch and planning ahead for the Garden Viewing in the Spring.

Thank you to the Community Council and the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Catholic Education Office for their contribution of new bubblers and water coolers. A great and much needed addition to the school.

ICT - Student Devices

Just to give parents an early ‘heads up’ that we will be updating devices used by the students and phasing in Windows based devices instead of the Chrome Books over the coming years, commencing in 2026.We wish to give parents plenty of notice on this as we know this could impact your own purchasing plans.

Students in Year 3, 7 and 11 will be the first to be issued with the Windows based laptops in 2026. For year 3, these will be school-based and purchased by the school. For Year 7 and Year 11, the laptops will be purchased by families under the BYOD program. More information to follow next term.

MND Fete Day

Tomorrow, Friday 27th June is MND Fete Day at St Anne’s. A fantastic day is promised and we thank students and parents for their enthusiasm and support for this very worthy cause.

ALL members of the community are invited to the Fete which will commence at 12pm. The students have been invited to wear blue and there are prizes for the best dressed class, class that raises the most money, etc.

St Anne’s, St Joachim’s and Grandparent’s Day

Early in the new term we have a very special celebration when we celebrate St Anne and St Joachim, Jesus’ grandparents, and our own grandparents. All grandparents are warmly invited to join us on Friday 1st August at 10.00am. More details can be found later in the Newsletter.

In Conclusion…

Thank you to all staff, students, and families for your continued support as we wrap up the first half of the academic year.

Semester 1 Progress Reports will be issued on Wednesday, 2nd July. We hope parents find the reports both informative and insightful.

Should there be any questions or areas requiring clarification, parents can contact teachers or make an appointment through the school office.

Reminder: Pupil Free Days – Friday 4th July & Monday 21st July

Please note that Friday 4th July (last day of Term 2) and Monday 21st July (first day of Term 3) will both be Pupil Free Days.

On Friday 4th July, staff will be collaborating on programs for Semester 2 and preparing for the launch of our new homework and home reading tasks in Term 3.

On Monday 21st July, staff will gather in unity for our annual Spirituality Day, a time for reflection, connection, and shared purpose as we begin the new term.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

I am taking some extra days leave at the end of term as my husband David and I are traveling to the UK for some time with family. Looking forward to all Semester 2 will bring, especially my first St Anne’s Showcase.

Wishing all St Anne’s families a peaceful, relaxing and refreshing holiday ahead!
