Principal's Report
Dear St Anne's Community,
I hope that you were able to find some time with family and friends over the recent two week break and that your Easter was a happy and holy one.
Term 2 has started really well, with our students looking very neat and tidy in their winter uniform. I spoke with students on Monday about the importance of uniform and that it is a valuable tool in preparing ourselves for learning. When we make the extra effort and discipline to wear our uniform correctly and look neat and tidy, it generally presents as positive work habits in the classroom. It is expected that students will tuck in their shirts when they go into class or at assemblies or events. We have also been drawing attention to haircuts recently and the need for hair to be tied back if it is below the collar.
This week we had 4 staff members begin their High Impact Teaching Practice modules as part of the Catalyst program that Catholic Education are rolling out. Miss Jamieson, Mr Turner, Mrs Collins and Ms Tame all participated in two days of professional readings and webinars as part of this. There will be future dates across the rest of the year where these staff members will be absent from school to complete further modules. I thank them for their dedication and willingness to take this on.
Congratulations to Mrs Nicole Miller on the recent birth of Elvie Mae Miller. We wish them all the best as they settle into their new family life.
Our sincere condolences go out to Mr Tait and his family on the recent passing of his step father. Mr Tait was away on leave Week 10 and he is away this week also, to spend time with his family. We pray that they are able to find strength and peace at this difficult time.
I wish all our families a prosperous Term 2.
Take care,
Grant
